Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, and Instagram find and connect with each other, but most importantly, generate ideas and get entertained with engaging content. Social media users now expect brands to use engaging, informative, and fun videos to communicate with them.

Therefore, brands must drum up fresh social media content ideas to keep their followers interested and attract new people to their accounts. However, bringing new content daily and delivering high-class videos on multiple platforms is exhausting. So, we bring you easy, effective, and solid content ideas for each primary social channel so you can keep your social media strategy ahead of the curve.

Top 5 easy and effective strategies for your social media videos

1. Create a daily, weekly, or monthly series

Did you come up with a great idea and your audience fell in love with it right away? This idea can generate great content by turning it into a recurring series. Simply add something new and spicy into a pre-existing format to keep your audience hooked for more.

2. Make how to’s/guides

People always turn to online tutorials for things they don’t excel at, like cooking or using a specific, tricky product. These videos usually demonstrate how to use a product or service and talk to the viewer about some key features and benefits. With these tutorial videos, you can also easily influence a user’s purchase decision.

3. Run a contest or giveaway

Who doesn’t love free things and giveaways? These giveaway videos are a quick and easy way to fill a hole in your content calendar in a snap. Add a product shot in the video and some instructions for entering the giveaway and upload your video in the morning. Bam! Your video will start trending by the afternoon.

4. Do interviews and Q&A Videos

Don’t you want to engage your audience with insightful and exclusive content while conveying information about your industry and expertise? Interview and Q&A videos are the easiest and most effective way to do this. For this purpose, you could interview industry thought leaders, influencers, team members, or even customers. Don’t forget to prepare a list of questions but also keep your fans more engaged by collecting their questions.

You can announce and ask questions through social media like Instagram stories, then compile them to see which would suit your topic or theme. You can also make live solo videos where you can answer real-time questions from your fans.

5. Do challenges

Challenge videos are trending these days, with people recording themselves taking a popular challenge and then posting the content and asking others to try it. These videos can be anything from dances and tricks to pranks, etc., with hilarious results. The famous ice bucket challenge is the most popular example of a challenge video.

Video content is out there because people prefer watching a 2-minute informative video over reading a 2-minute long blog. If there is something new you would like to learn or some new recipe you want to try out, YouTube is your go-to place.

YouTube is an online video-sharing and social media platform made in early 2005 and is the second most visited site after Google. You can create your content (whatever you want) and upload it on this platform without any hustle or payment. You may be reading this blog because you tried to create a YouTube channel but could not. You may see a message saying, “This action is not allowed,” which may occur if you use an outdated YouTube version. Try to update the app or try it on a computer.

To create your YouTube account, follow the below-mentioned steps and start creating content from anywhere.

Sign in or create your Google account

To make a YouTube channel, you must have a Google account. If you don’t have one, you can quickly create it and sign in to your account. Make sure you have a strong password to avoid any hacking.

Create a YouTube channel

Open YouTube with your account on Google Chrome. On the top right corner, you will find your Google account profile picture with an option for creating your channel. Upon clicking, it will ask for your channel name (which should be a creative one), and just like that, you will have your own YouTube channel.

Customising your channel

After creating your channel, there are some things you need to do before you start uploading videos, such as layout, branding, and adding some basic info.

Here you will enter some basic information about you and your channels, such as what language you will be making videos in and what your videos will be about. This way, the algorithm makes your channel appear when someone searches for it or something similar. Don’t forget to add links to your homepage, social profiles and any other places you’d like your YouTube traffic to land.

You can upload a profile picture of your channel and a banner image to make the branding section look more attractive. The video watermark is displayed at the bottom left corner of your videos. Choose a logo that represents your channel best. You can create fun logos through Canva.

Furthermore, you can do other customisations as you go. This is just the start of it, so take your time and go along, do experiments, and you will find ways to get reach your channel and make the most of it.

YouTube for Business

Now you’re ready to start uploading your content. If you are a small business, YouTube is one of the most budget-friendly platforms to increase traffic, revenue and a rabid user base. Don’t plan on uploading content more frequently? Don’t worry! Liking and subscribing to other channels is a subtle way to show your fellow YouTube creators some love. It’s a brilliant marketing strategy to let your viewers know you’re involved in your industry.

After Google, YouTube is the second-largest search engine in the world. With over 500 hours of videos being uploaded every minute, it is easy for your videos to get lost in the sea of YouTube videos. Your best bet? Start using video SEO best practices to create a solid YouTube SEO strategy.

What is a YouTube SEO strategy?

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is designing web content to target unpaid traffic and to rank highly in search engine results pages (SERPs). Since it is often the gatekeeper to your content, optimising your content is necessary to attract traffic and increase viewers. In simpler words, it is the process of improving your channel to increase its visibility.

However, YouTube SEO doesn’t use backlinks and other factors to evaluate rank as Google does. It involves everything from your channel, playlists, metadata, and descriptions to your videos. Therefore, you can focus on searches within YouTube and outside the platform.

The basics of YouTube SEO

SEO basics for YouTube videos, including keywords in titles, meta descriptions, and tags, as well as video accessibility since search engine bots cannot watch videos. Adding tons of keywords in transcripts, closed captions, and subtitles impact user experience, engagement, watch time, viewership, and SEO. We bring you some strategies to rank your YouTube videos.

1. Diversify keywords

Search engine results pages are getting more competitive every month, so you need to diversify your keywords and pick less competitive ones that bring you more views.

2. Add keywords in Video Title and Video File

Your video will have a much better chance of ranking and gaining more search volume if the file name you are uploading and the video title both have the target keywords.

3. Optimise your video description

Optimise your video description by adding descriptions, subtitles, closed captions, and thumbnails with important keywords. Adding subtitles will bring you an audience who doesn’t understand your language, whereas closed-caption files are transcripts or text of what is said in the video for those who can’t listen. These texts can be picked up by broad search engines, just as a blog would.

4. Select a video category

Adding your videos to the categories on YouTube that suit your videos will let users find videos from chosen categories. Contextualise your video with categories while uploading to have a better chance of getting found by a user.

5. Customise your Thumbnail image

Thumbnails are the first thing that grabs people’s attention, and they can lead to a higher watch time. Therefore, create a thumbnail image that stands out from the crowd to get your video noticed.

YouTube and Google are the top search engines that use the same fundamentals in ranking algorithms. YouTube videos and Google results are now combined to simplify how people search. You can try this by searching your video title on Google. This means ranking YouTube videos is super easy.

What will digital marketing in 2023 look like? It’s a question all marketers have eyes on but don’t have a ride into the future to check out the top digital marketing trends because strategies are continually evolving. Things are moving so fast for digital marketing agencies that a new digital marketing trend will come before you even know it.

1. A seamless social shopping experience

Social media is the most important part of any digital marketing strategy. With social media channels like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok rising during the pandemic, finding your desired products or services has always been challenging. These social media channels have replaced their brick-and-mortar counterparts and offer customers online shops where they can shop, pay, and leave feedback from their couches.

Moreover, studies have suggested that social shopping (or social commerce) is expected to reach $1.2 trillion globally by 2025. This is nearly three times faster than traditional e-commerce.

Therefore, creating a seamless customer experience where platforms work behind the scenes to enable customer payments without leaving social media apps will account for 62 percent of global social e-commerce revenue in the next three years.

2. All focus on customer satisfaction

No matter how much marketing trends evolve, one thing is to stay the same forever – the customer is always right. Making customer satisfaction one of their highest priorities is essential for any business to grow because it is no longer about convincing people to buy from you but about providing fantastic customer experiences that will keep people returning for more.

Marketing almost takes care of itself when you focus on building a positive business culture and providing excellent service. Making relationships with customers that drive loyalty is worth every penny you spend. As management experts point out, a mere 5 percent boost in customer retention increases profit by 25 percent.

3. Interactive Content Marketing

Many marketing professionals are turning towards interactive marketing content to better engage with the target audience. Based on the information, interactive marketing content is almost 23 percent more effective than traditional content – which is how the following digital marketing trend will be.

A few benefits of interactive content:

  • It helps in enhancing the user experience
  • More response and social shares from user
  • Additional engagement with the users leads to more brand awareness

You can invite your target audience to connect with your brand with interactive marketing content such as quizzes or polls. Another good example of interactive marketing is engagographics, which can make boring infographics much more interactive and provide users with the relevant information and facts they are looking for.

4. Forget about third-party cookies

Marketers have long known about the third-party cookie’s planned expiration in 2022 (now pushed out to 2023). Google decided not to gather this data due to privacy issues like how brands know customers’ online activities and not knowing what brands are doing with this data.

Studies show that people believe their data is not as secure as it was five years ago, and 81 percent say that the risk of their personal data getting somewhere without them knowing is far greater than its benefits. Advertisers in the future will need to find alternative ways to find a target audience. Marketers must understand how to increase revenue with a first-party data strategy like email marketing.

5. Email Marketing is the new scene

Email addresses act like the ultimate first-party data. When you have permission to use someone’s email in a campaign or marketing, under GDPR, you also have permission to upload that onto advertising platforms like Google, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn as a de facto cookie.  This means email marketing is going to be crucial in 2023. Therefore, formulate an email marketing strategy that ties in with your marketing activities and the most from your first-party data.

Most of us believe project management is an internal affair, but it’s more about clients.  Discussing how to respond to negative feedback and providing best practices to collaborate more effectively with your clients enables your teams to deliver successful projects. Therefore, it should be encouraged at every stage of the process.

What is Feedback?

Before diving into why client feedback is such an essential part of the project management process, let’s talk about what feedback is.

Client feedback in project management is a conversation that should result in a clear next step toward their improvement. Constructive feedback helps project managers to fine-tune their team’s process to deliver the highest value for their clients. These valuable observation-based comments are encouraging and aim to support rather than criticise.

Why is Feedback Important?

What exactly is so great about feedback? A myriad of things! It plays a vital role in personal and professional growth, provides direction and motivation for your team, and gives your business a tried and tested route toward continuous improvement.

Why is Client Feedback so Important During a Project?

As we discussed above, client feedback provides direction and motivation for your team and pushes your team toward continuous improvement. Creating a feedback loop is an effortless way to become a better business without spending a dime.

Creative agencies might get scared of client feedback because of what it might be. “We don’t like it,” “Can we redo it,” or “It doesn’t meet the brief,” and the fear is understandable. It can feel like a massive setback because you must redo your work, especially if you are already polishing it off as the last step. Because of this, little to no choice in “Can we redo this?” it is better to seek client feedback at every stage of the process.

Taking the client in the loop will save you from the setback and make the client feel like they were part of the process and involved. From creativity and planning to wireframing, prototyping, and development, client feedback will address minor tweaks or significant issues rather than wholesale changes.

The benefits of asking for client feedback for each stage

  • It will save you and your client time and money because you can quickly solve minor problems instead of spending hours making significant changes.
  • It will reduce the risk of deadline revisions or last-minute overhauls because you have already made minor changes the client asks for.
  • It will help your client understand the features so you can prioritise your tasks and resources accordingly.
  • It will set practical expectations, a better understanding of limitations, and more realistic expectations on both sides.

Communication and collaboration are the keys to a good client relationship, and it’s essential to be straightforward to stay on the same page.

KPIs vs Metrics – Tips & Tricks to Performance Measures For small businesses, it can be a bit tougher to set goals and develop a strategy to ensure they are met. You can ensure this by working on the right tools to help you achieve your goals. Once you have defined your strategy and objectives, the next step is to figure out how to best link them to a measurable metric.

Choosing Your Key Performance Indicators

A critical component of any goal is ensuring that it is measurable. With so many terms and metrics to consider in the world of digital marketing, how do you know which ones to pay attention to? The answer is frequently found in your goal. When you get down to the essentials, you can often determine exactly what your digital marketing strategy needs to deliver.

For example, if your company’s goal is to make sales through an online platform, your objectives could include increasing traffic to that site or focusing on conversions. Keeping this in mind, you should consider the number of website visitors to your site or platform. However, this is not always the case.

Each distinct objective will have a distinct measurable. This is a key indicator of how well that aspect of the strategy is performing. These key performance indicators (KPIs) are critical for determining whether your strategy is effective. Is it performing in the ways that you require it to meet your goals? As a business owner, you want to know that your investment in digital marketing is producing results. This will propel your company forward.

Connecting KPIs to Goals

Now that you have determined your KPIs, consider how you will implement a strategy to achieve them. If you want to increase traffic to your website, do you provide social media users with links that encourage them to click through to it? Are you using the right social media advertising? Are you using the right platforms for your target market? Several factors must be considered. These could assist you in achieving the best possible results in each of your KPIs.

While it may be tempting to consider ten thousand likes as a measure of success in social media marketing for small businesses, these metrics are meaningless if they do not serve your company’s objectives. Determining success on social media is far more complicated than counting likes and followers. Other than those that are attractive on the surface, there are several other important metrics to consider. These “vanity metrics” are rarely useful to business goals and are frequently viewed as an indicator of success by those who are unfamiliar with your objectives.

Once the KPIs are chosen, monitor them consistently. You can compensate for any shortcomings by keeping track of the results on a weekly or a monthly basis. You can also benefit from growth in key areas.

If you check your website data and notice that Instagram accounts for 70% of your social media traffic after running social media ads for two weeks, it could simply mean you should change your ad placement to reach more Instagram users. Alternatively, you should spend more money on Instagram advertising than on other social media platforms.

Reporting and monitoring

Using data to create periodic reports is a terrific way to track progress over time. In the case of digital marketing strategy elements that take longer to show results (such as SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)), you will be able to not only monitor this but also look back at what has or has not worked in the past and implement or avoid it. It is also a great way to reflect on your progress and recognise where you have grown up. Every victory is worthy of celebration for a small business owner.

The significance of having a well-thought-out strategy cannot be overstated. However, linking this strategy to measurable objectives is where the true value of effective social media for small businesses is realized. Simply put, the use of measurable KPIs acts as a GPS on your journey toward your business objectives. As a result, you will be able to identify which roads are blocked, where there is traffic, and which highway represents the best route. All the while telling you how far you still must go.
